For CES 2024, Mojawa has announced its new HaptiFit Terra bone conduction earphones, which promise to let athletes leave their phones and watches behind by combining workout tracking with a massive amount of storage for music, podcasts or audiobooks.
Available now a pre-order price of $199.99 (the earphones will be widely available in March for $299.99), the HaptiFit Terra boasts haptic technology, bone conduction audio, and an AI Sports Trainer in a comfortable, head-mounted design.
Mojawa describes their AI Sports Trainer as a tool that can “elevate workouts into complete training sessions” by automatically generating exercise plans based on previous workouts.
The device can deliver heart rate, pace, step count, calories, swimming lap and distance, and other real-time notifications, keeping athletes’ goals at the forefront and enabling users to adjust their speed in real time.
HaptiFit Terra’s sleek titanium alloy frame was designed with speed and comfort in mind. The earphones hook around ears, maintaining an athlete’s ability to hear their surroundings even when listening to music. The Terra also provides highly accurate sports tracking that doesn’t interrupt the flow of activity or jostle on the wrist or arm. The unit is IP68 dustproof and waterproof to withstand any workout environment.

Along with the vibrations that give training guidance, the HaptiFit Terra’s 3D pressure-sensitive haptic controls make it easy to select activity type, hear activity stats, adjust the volume, and activate lights with a simple touch. The unit has dynamic glow lights that illumintate to signify a high heart rate and add safety in low-light conditions.
The HaptiFit Terra have an 8-hour battery life and high-speed magnetic charging that can deliver a full charge in just one hour. 32GB of storage allow the user to load up on audio content and leave their other devices behind, a feature that will prove especially useful for swimmers.
Mojawa has developd a companion app for the HaptiFit Terra that includes an AI Sports Trainer and sports tracking. Post-workout, the app shows athletes their stats and progress. It also enables users to control their music, lighting effects, full sport tracking, adaptive exercise plans, and more. The iOS and Android app will also include social features, enabling athletes to share their stats with friends, coaches, and trainers in real time.
Many athletes prefer bone-conduction earphones because there’s nothing to block their ear canals, allowing them to have a better sense of their surroundings. Vibrations that come from the bone-conduction speakers vibrate against an athlete’s head and send the same signals to the cranium that the hearing part of the brain would get from vibrating eardrums.
There’s an audio trade off when compared to the musical qualities of true in-ear IEMs, but the lack of ear obstruction has earned bone-conduction earphones a devoted fan base.
