Smart home manufacturer Eve is showing off more Matter products in the runup to CES, including a couple of firsts for the brand: an in-wall and energy-monitoring smart outlet, plus a line of made-to-order window blinds.
Eve is also debuting a version of its Thread-equipped light switch that will arrive with Matter support out of the box.
Due in early February, the Eve Energy Outlet ($49.95) is a compact duplex wall outlet that works with Matter, the ecosystem-unifying smart home protocol that recently turned a year old.
The two receptacles in the Eve Energy Outlet can be individually switched and automated, Eve says, while “advanced” energy monitoring will allow Apple HomeKit and Samsung SmartThings users to keep tabs on how much power their connected devices are consuming.
While it’s no stranger to smart plugs, Eve has never offered an in-wall smart outlet until now. The existing Eve Energy smart plug also offers energy monitoring functionality as well as Matter support.
Next up, the Eve Blinds Collection consists of a selection of made-to-order smart roller shades, complete with “high-quality” fabrics in both semi-transparent and blackout versions.

Through the Eve app for iOS, the Eve blinds offer an “Adaptive Shading” feature that will automatically close the shades depending on the position of the sun.
As with the Eve Energy Outlet, the Eve Blinds Collection will support Matter, meaning the shades will work with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and other smart home ecosystems compatible with the new standard.
Smart blinds were among the first categories of products that the Matter protocol supports.
The Eve Blinds Collection will go on sale in the U.S. and Germany via the Eve online store; prices will vary depending on your order.
Finally, Eve is debuting a new version of its existing Eve Light Switch that offers Matter support out of the box.

Eve
Released last year, the third-generation Eve Light Switch is an in-wall switch that works in either single-pole or 3-way configurations, and it comes equipped with a Thread radio. Thread is a key pillar of the Matter standard.
While the existing third-gen Eve Light Switch must be updated to work with Matter, this new version comes with Matter support straight out of the box. Otherwise, there are no differences between the new Light Switch (which is still considered a third-gen model) and the existing version.
The Eve Light Switch with Matter will land in the second quarter of 2024 for $49.95.
We’ll have full reviews of Eve’s new Matter products once we get our hands on review units. In the meantime, don’t miss our coverage of the best smart plugs, smart light switches, and smart window shades.
